Can my Shiba Inu take Trazodone, Apoquel, Rimadyl combined for pain?

I cannot find any interaction reports for Trazodone with carprofen (Rimadyl), however there are reports that Trazodone has interactions with Ibuprofen, a similar class of NSAID. This reports that either increases toxicity of the other by added drug effects. Check with your veterinarian on whether he recommends giving the two together. There maybe less toxic effect by giving the Rimadyl in the morning and the Trazodone in the evening. However this is for your vet to decide. If you cannot reach your veterinarian I suggest not to give the Trazodone tonight and keep the dog in a room where she is not likely to be bothered much by trick or treaters.

Tramadol and apoquel do not have any negative interactions. If the tramadol was prescribed to Dobby then I don’t have any concerns about using it with apoquel. The accepted dose of Rimadyl is about 1 mg per pound every 12 hours, so I would not give more than 50 mg in a 12 hour period. Rimadyl comes in 25, 75, and 100 mg tablet sizes and I don’t know which one you have. If she has already had an appropriate dose and she is still uncomfortable then she should probably be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon. Unfortunately no you cannot. Trazodone can only be given once every 24 hours and gabapentin every 8 hours. Giving Yogi these pills three and a half hours after the first time you gave them is too close.

Rimadyl can be used for any muscular or joint inflammation or pain, so it is probably the right choice for Westley. If you get in touch with your local vets, they should be able to advise about the dose for Westley. You will also find Rimadyl dosage on the leaflet, that should be provided with the tablets that were prescribed for Winston.

There should be no harmful interactions at all between tryptophan and chamomile, and the prescription medications that your dog is currently taking - so you could certainly try this if you like. I do recommend letting your vet know that you are giving the supplement, just so that he/she is in the loop about everything your dog is taking :)
