My dog just threw up food. Is it serious if he seems fine now?

However, if he continues to vomit, becomes lethargic, stops eating or develops diarrhea, then he will need to see his veterinarian. In this case, fecal testing, bloodwork and x-rays of his belly are diagnostic tests that may be recommended. In the meantime, monitor him closely for any other symptoms. If Jordy continues to vomit, starts dry heaving, or is extremely lethargic, I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic tonight or first thing in the morning. If he is normal the rest of the night, give him a half his normal breakfast and monitor for more vomiting. If he does continue to vomit, he'll need to go to vet. Common causes of vomiting in puppies include foreign bodies, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, some metabolic disorders, and mild gastroenteritis if unknown origin. If he does end up needing to go to the vet, they will likely take some x-rays and maybe do a baseline blood work, and then treat him symptomatically if they are do not find a specific. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is possible that Ciroc ate a little too quickly or greedily, causing her to vomit. However, in puppies, vomiting can be caused by parasites and dangerous viral infections. I recommend keeping an eye on Ciroc for continued vomiting, loss of energy/appetite, and diarrhea. If any of these signs occur, she should be seen by a vet ass soon as possible. I hope this helps and that all is well!

Just a like humans, dogs sometimes vomit a couple times (for many reasons) and then are completely fine. If the vomiting recurrs or you see other concerning signs like loss of appetite, extreme lethargy, or anything else That concerns you, head in to the vet to figure out what’s going on. Hello. If Chip is not ill or acting sick, then he took care of the problem on his own. If he is acting sick, then do not feed him, supply water only if he does not vomit & get him to the vet as soon as you can. But if he seems fine, he will most likely be OK. As long as Loyalty seems ok and is eating and holding down some food it's ok to just keep an eye on her. If the vomiting continues or she seems ill then I recommend you take her in for an exam. She could have something in her stomach or the vomiting could be from a kidney or liver problem. If she's sick they will do an exam and blood work to find the reason. They may do an X-ray too. Once they have a diagnosis then they can give her the right treatment. Hopefully she just are something that upset her stomach and she's better now.
