My dog threw up and may have licked roach poison. Is she okay now?

It sounds like Princess may have eaten something naughty (trash, toilet paper, paper plate, sock, toy stuffing, other) that decided to come back up. The fact that she has shown no signs today is promising. If she has eaten and kept it down, you are likely in the clear. Caveat: Do watch her closely for the next 2-3 days because if a smaller piece of whatever it was did get through and gets lodged in the intestine, you'll see lots more vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, etc. If this happens, it's time to see the vet. He may be experiencing symptoms of having a gastrointestinal obstruction though other things like dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, among other things could also be going on. For this reason, I recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible to ensure that this does not become worse and to see if he will require therapy such as surgery if he is in fact having an obstruction. She will likely be just fine. A small amount of raid left on a roach isn't going to cause any serious issues for your pet. At the very least she may have an upset stomach. In which case you can feed her a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for a few days, and then slowly transition her back to her normal diet. If she doesn't seem to be recovering from the stomach upset as expected after 12-24 hrs, then its best to just haver her checked by your vet and given some supportive treatment to help her stomach settle quicker. Being that the packaging states the active ingredient as boric acid he will likely be fine. It doesn't sound like he ingested enough to be toxic however, he could have some gastrointestinal upset for the next few days. I suggest you feed him some bland food for 2-3 days. That being said, we always suggest a vet examine your pet if they have ingested any type of poison. It is difficult for us to say much over the internet without having examined the pet. As long as Chigger is doing well otherwise and doesn't vomit again I wouldn't worry to much. If Chigger continues to vomit, is lethargic or has diarrhea then I would recommend bringing him to a veterinarian. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I understand your worry! I would just watch her if it was only one time and she is acting fine! If she is eating and holding that down and water that is also good news. If she continues to vomit or becomes lethargic than try to get her seen sooner. In that case, fast her for 6-8 hours then start a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice as small frequent meals. Feed 1 cup per 20lbs. I hope this helps and good luck!
