My dog threw up azithromycin. Should I give him his next dose?

Yes in two hours the tablet should have been absorbed and dissolved already. This medication must be given with food and water as well as can cause oesophageal inflammation. I would suggest to wait until next dosage and I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Because Pesci threw it up not long after taking it, yes it will still be effective. Antibiotics can cause upset stomachs, so I would give him his pills with some food such as boiled white meat chicken (no skin or bones), cheese, or peanut butter. I hope this helps.

But he likely will be fine! If he receives any of these medications twice daily just skip tonight's dose. Even if they are just once a day medications he will likely be fine. The vet may recommend blood work or abdominal x-rays after performing a physical exam to make sure there are no other underlying diseases that may have caused Lupe to vomit blood. I would worry that this is unrelated to the azithromycin since she finished the medication yesterday.
