My dog has swollen testicles with yellow discharge. What's wrong?

Swollen testicle can be due to torsion, allergic reaction or infection. i would recommend having it checked by your vet ASAP, if the swelling is too large you will need to take him to the emergencies if your vet is not open today.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Yes I would definitely bring this up again. A few things come to mind - some more serious than others. Testicular torsion is excruciatingly painful and requires surgery. Testicular cancer, and scrotal hernia are also on my list of things to rule out. The green/yellow discharge can actually be normal in in-tact male dogs but could also signal an infection or urinary problem. All in all, it's worth talking to your vet about it again. Hi there! Thanks for using PerCoach! This is certainly concerning for a focal infection of the prepuce with even possibly a concurrent urinary tract infection. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment based on findings. Good luck!

I would advise that you go ahead and give a dose of the Benedryl and then get him into the vet as soon as possible- tonight with the ER vet is ideal. This could signal an allergic reaction, or a viral/bacterial infection. But I am most worried about something extremely painful such as a testicular torsion (where the testicle twists on itself, cutting of blood flow and causing swelling). If you can’t get to the vet tonight, ice the testicle for 5-10 minutes every 2-64hours to help with pain and swelling. Place a paper towel or thin cloth between the ice pack and his scrotum. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I’m sorry to hear Cutler isn’t feeling well. Without seeing him it’s very hard to say what’s going on and how to treat him. I do recommend he is seen by a vet to determine what’s going on. Being an older, intact male, I would be worried about something going on in his testicles or prostate. In the meantime, you could try applying a cold compress to his scrotum for 10-15 minutes a few times today to see if that helps with the swelling. After 24 hours, I would switch to a warm compress (not hot). If that doesn’t improve, I would recommend an exam. Good luck and kisses to Cutler!

Hello. Swollen testicles with progrssive swelling in the pelvic limb(s) might be an indication of infection, inflammation or even neoplasia. You really should have this evaluated as soon as possible on the chance that he may need to be on antibiotics or need to be neutered. Swollen testicles and a bloated belly can signs of edema or ascites and can indicate many things including heart disease or an infection. I recommend have Aldan visit his veterinarian today.
