My dog has a swollen testicle with no trauma. What should I do?

Swollen testicle can be due to torsion, allergic reaction or infection. i would recommend having it checked by your vet ASAP, if the swelling is too large you will need to take him to the emergencies if your vet is not open today.

Unfortunately it's impossible to say without being able to examine Bruno in person. A testicular tumor could swell and cause an increase in size that could resolves with an antibiotic or steroid injection. Infections like Brucella or other bacteria could cause testicular swelling. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Bruno to determine what might be the cause.

Swollen testicles and a bloated belly can signs of edema or ascites and can indicate many things including heart disease or an infection. I recommend have Aldan visit his veterinarian today. This could have a few causes - given that Carson is such an important dog to your wife, I would recommend taking him to the ER vet. It could be an infection, or testicular torsion. The swelling may be an abscess or a lymph node. A physical exam, and possibly an ultrasound or xray may reveal more information. There are some fungal infections more likely in the South - so specific blood tests may need to be ordered.

I do recommend he is seen by a vet to determine what’s going on. Being an older, intact male, I would be worried about something going on in his testicles or prostate. In the meantime, you could try applying a cold compress to his scrotum for 10-15 minutes a few times today to see if that helps with the swelling. After 24 hours, I would switch to a warm compress (not hot). If that doesn’t improve, I would recommend an exam. Good luck and kisses to Cutler!

This can be from an injury, infection or cancer. I expect this is painful also so please take Breezer in for an exam. They can feel the testicle, check him over to see if there are other problems then decide a course of treatment. With an infection or injury medication may heal this but if it's a tumor then having Breezer neutered may be recommended. That is abnormal. He could have an infection or mass in the testicle. I recommend neutering him and sending the abnormal testicle for a biopsy to determine the diagnosis.
