Why does my dog have swollen, red eyelids, a bump, and eye discharge?

Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Male | 12 lbs

I just noticed that my old Bichon Frise has swollen eyelids and a small bump on his upper right eyelid. He has a red eye on his right eye. And he often roll around on the floor and end up with blood on his eyelids. There is black discharge from his eyes too.

The tumour could be having an effect, however it could be completely unrelated. It sounds a lot like conjunctivitis which can be easily treated by your vet. I would get Bella in for an exam asap as you dont want to leave an eye condition as it may be more serious.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Poor Daisy! From your picture, it appears as though Daisy's eye lid is swollen in corner (by her nose). This can be from an infection or an allergic reaction. If she is squinting her eye, keeping it closed, rubbing it, the eye is producing green-yellow discharge I recommend she be seen today. If not make an appointment to have her seen Monday. What is this pink bump on my dog's eyelid? Should I be concerned?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would continue to monitor it for now as this may just be an area of infection or inflammation. It could even be a growth though thankfully most of the eyelid growths in dogs are benign. I would continue to monitor it for now. If it goes away then great. However, if it does not go away and actually continues to grow, I recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to look into this further and see what seems more likely. Best of luck!
