My dog stopped vomiting. Is it normal? Should I give the medicine?

If it has been over 24 hours since Lola vomited I think I would give one more dose of zofran and then discontinue the medication. As long as she is eating normally and does not continue to vomit I don't think you have much to worry about. However, if the vomiting starts again you may want to restart the zofran and have Lola examined by an emergency veterinarian (especially with her history of PLN). No, I don't think any vomiting is normal. With all the issues he really should be back at the vet so they can check him. He really should be hospitalized until he is eating normally and holding it down with no vomiting for a few days. If they find no issues he may just need to be on a daily anti-vomiting medication like Cerenia or an antacid like Pepcid.

If he used to vomit a lot and it as now stopped then that would be a good thing, unless he isn't eating. If his appetite is good and he has no vomiting and/or diarrhea then it sounds like his vomiting issue has resolved.

It is quite possible that the vomiting is a normal reaction to the pain/pain killers and even to the pressure of a cast. However, this should stop soon. Should the vomiting increase or still be present by Monday, I would take Cosmo back to the vet for a recheck.

If she's stopped having diarrhea, this is a good sign. I hope that she has some medication on board for nausea and vomiting - if not, your vet should be able to prescribe some for you to give at home. Normally, with parvo, the best sign of recovery is when they have gone 24 hours without any vomiting and are eating on their own - until then, you need to continue treatment with fluids and other supportive care.

I would not recommend residing the medication since it is impossible to know how much he may have absorbed. You may want to ask your vet if injectable medications might be an option, or if there are other anti-nausea medications to try. I’m hoping Charlie makes a full recovery!

I would not expect a dog to continue to vomit after it has finished medication for a parasite, so I would recommend contacting your veterinarian to let them know that Oreo is still vomiting and see what they would recommend next for him.
