Dog stomach ache won't go away after vet visit. What should I do?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This may be due to parasites. Keep in mind that not improving with a dewormer does not mean is not parasites. It may mean you are using the wrong dewormer or the wrong amount or longevity. This can also be a number of other things like a foreign body obstruction, parvovirus, among other causes. I would recommend you consider having her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and start therapy accordingly. Since last night was Halloween, think about if there's anything she could have eaten that she shouldn't have and take her to the vet ASAP if you realize your chocolate stash or your entire pan of bacon wrapped something or anothers from the potluck is missing. If you can't think of anything she ate, it's generally ok to wait 24 hours to see if she get back on her food naturally. Sometimes something goes wrong in the gut and we don't know why but it resolves quickly. If she's not back to normal in 24 hours, or has any vomiting or diarrhea in the mean time, she needs to go to her vet for evaluation and supportive care. Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Hercules. Sounds like you need to have him evaluated again by your vet. Just wondering if any blood work was done and if not I would advise getting some done to evaluate his overall health and internal organ function. Possibilities include intestinal parasites (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, giardia, coccidia, etc), dietary indiscretion (eating things dogs are not supposed to eat), dietary/nutritional problem, infection/inflammation, foreign body ingestion, toxin exposure, other gastrointestinal diseases, disease in organs outside of the gastrointestinal tract (pancreatitis, kidney/liver disease, etc), among many other causes. The fact that he won't eat is significant since he will get weak and possibly dehydrated also if he is not drinking fluids. Your vet can reevaluate him and see if anything has changed on physical exam and then propose other tests if needed. Good luck with Hercules. I hope he feels better soon.

Hello. Sometimes, it just takes a few days for a stomach issue to clear, even with medications. Of course, I do not know what was administered to Woody, but if he continues to vomit despite the proper medications being administered, we do have to be concerned about some underlying metabolic problem or perhaps an ingested foreign object or substance being the cause of his ongoing discomfort. Make sure, if he is eating, you are feeding a very low fat, easily digestible diet. 25% cooked chicken & 75% low fat cottage cheese or plain white rice is appropriate. A couple of teaspoons several times a day may be well tolerated. If after another 24 hours, Woody continues to vomit, you will need to speak with your vet about re-evaluating the situation, doing some blood work & obtaining x-rays to make sure nothing was missed in the initial evaluation of Woody.
