My dog's snout is pink and swollen. Is it an emergency? What to do?

This is not an emergency but I would have your veterinarian look at it tomorrow. With the pictures it is hard to say what it is and does need to be evaluated in person. Hi and thanks for posting! The area around his nose does look a little red and swollen. Although perhaps not an emergency, I would try and get Prompto in to see his veterinarian as soon as possible. The concern here is that the swelling is spreading, and it could get big enough to obstruct her breathing. I think it's best to have her seen by a vet now to get this treated. I hope this helps.

Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach! From the pictures you have provided, I would suspect this to be a skin tumor. It looks to be benign and similar to what we call a sebaceous adenoma. It may have been much smaller previously and if it was bumped or traumatized may have grown in size due to inflammation. If this is bleeding and does not go down in size, I would suggest having it removed. Many of these can be frozen off with cryo treatment that many vet clinics provide as a service. That looks pretty significant. I am sorry Stich is having this issue. It would be best to get him to your vet for an exam. It could be a bacterial or fungal skin infection. It could be just and injury. It could be the start of a tumor or an autoimmune disease. It is so hard to say from a photo. Your vet will be able to give you more information after an exam and then prescribe the proper treatment. I really can't recommend you put anything on it without knowing what it is. It could be an allergic reaction of some kind, a bacterial or fungal infection, or an autoimmune disease. I really think you should take her to a vet for an exam. If it is starting in other locations on her body then then I would be very worried about this being an autoimmune disease (such as pemphigus). This is not something that you will be able to treat at home.

She may have injured it, have an infection, a growth in it, or is suffering from an allergic reaction. She will have to see a vet for this. If she can breathe ok, isn't lethargic, and is otherwise acting normally, it can wait until the morning.
