Why does my dog sneeze, rub nose, scratch eyes after being outside?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 1 year and 10 months old | 65 lbs

My dog sneezes profusely every time she comes in from going outside. She has taken to rubbing her nose on the carpet, and has lost hair. She also has been scratching around her eyes with her dewclaw.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach!

It sounds as though Coco may have an allergy. The sneezing and facial rubbing can be symptoms of an allergy. You can try an antihistamine to see if it helps. Read the link below:

Good luck!
