My new pitbull is sneezing a lot and peeing frequently. What's wrong?

He could have some allergies or possibly have an upper respiratory infection. You can monitor him for a few days and see if the sneezing resolves. If it continues, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He may need an anti-histamine or antibiotic to treat. As for the sleeping, it may take him some time to adjust to his new home. As long as he seems energetic when you take him out than it is probably nothing to worry about. You could have him examined by a vet if it continues. Hi. He may be sneezing. You can talk to your veterinarian about an antihistamine. If he's a puppy, it is common for them to eat there own poop. There is a powder called forbid that can help them stop that habit. In the meantime, I would keep him on a leash to potty and pick up the feces right away. Playbiting is also common in puppies. I would say no firmly, ignore him, and redirect him to something he can chew on. As far as the pottying, you may need to add more pads, and also take him out every 1 to 2 hours and use positive reinforcement when he does it right. Good luck

This behavior is concerning, and you may be right that there is something else going on. I'd take her back into the vet for bloodwork and a urinalysis. Constantly leaking urine is most concerning of incontinence, but I'm almost certain that this would have been noticed while in the shelter and the dog would not have been adopted if this was discovered. More likely, this is a recent urinary infection that happened to occur around adoption time. The SPCA is usually good at offering free vet services within two weeks of adoption. I recommend calling them soon and scheduling an appointment. They will be able to help find the cause of this and offer the best treatment. I hope that helps and all is well with Sassy. Excessive sneezing like this could be a sign of foreign material in the nasal cavity (sometimes a piece of fluff or plant material can get stuck), or potentially a nasal polyp, tumor or infection. If this extreme sneezing continues I'd recommend having your vet examine Pilsner - they might recommend sedation for a nasal flush and exam.

The most common reasons for sneezing are: allergies, a cold, an infection (bacterial, viral or fungal) or possibly foreign material (plant debris, etc). Pugs have abnormal nares and airways which may make them more susceptible to infections. I am from the US and I see you are in Croatia. There may be different causes in your area of the world. If the nasal discharge is yellow or green, he gets worse, stops eating, is lethargic and or his symptoms persist I'd recommend getting him looked at by a Veterinarian. He may need some antibiotics

Congratulations on your adoption of Tank! That is a fair count of mucus draining from his nose. He likely has an upper respiratory infection from being in the shelter. He will need to be evaluated by a veterinarian to ensure this is the problem and nothing more serious. He will need to be prescribed medication as well. He can have the skin on his nose assessed at the same. In the meantime, keep encouraging him to eat and drink what he will. Keep him close to home and not around other dogs in case he is contagious.
