My dog has bloody snot and chronic sneezing fits. What's the cause?

Hi... my dog has been sneezing in and off for about a month and often has sneezing fits and sometimes thereferred is blood in her snot

Poor Daisy! She is an older girl, and unfortunately this sneezing with blood in her snot could be due to a malignant growth (cancer) in her nasal cavity. It could also be due to a foreign body, fungal infection, or respiratory infection. Because this has been ongoing for a while, it's best that Daisy is seen by a vet either today or tomorrow. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, urinalysis, x-rays, and may look up her nasal cavity with an endoscope to diagnose what is causing her symptoms. Once a cause is found, the vet can discuss treatment options with you.

The nose can be so inflamed from the aforementioned problems, it can start to bleed. Other unlikely causes are a foreign material stuck in the nose, high blood pressure, or (least likely) a mass in the nose. You should have her seem for the appropriate treatment. Hope this helps!

My dog is sneezing blood after dog park. Should I be worried?

I would definitely be concerned about the bloody nose. Since he does frequent the dog park, infections such as bordetella, influenza, or even contagious nasal mites are possible. A nasal foreign body is also possible. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon. Antibiotics may be recommended. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. My dog is sneezing with a bloody nose and discharge. What to do?

With a dog as young as he, my first guess would be a seed or bit of grass that he has sneezed into his nasal passage. Since he seems to be feeling okay otherwise I don't think he needs anything special done before he gets in to see the vet. If they don't find something else causing his sneezing, they may need to sedate him in order to explore his nasal passages for any sign of a foreign body.

Oh no, poor Bonnie! If the antibiotics are not helping with her sneezing bloody snot, then I would be concerned that her symptoms are caused by something more serious such as a fungal infection or even a tumor. I would take Bonnie back into a vet tomorrow for further testing such as blood tests, urinalysis, a culture of her nasal passages, chest x-rays, and an x-ray of her head. These tests will help the vet see if there is another cause of her symptoms, and then can discuss treatment options with you.
