My dog is sick, and I don't have a vet. Where can I get advice?

What I am understanding from your post is that Oddy is 4 month old puppy who is sick. I am guessing she has diarrhea, as I suspect that "metrogyl dreep" is metronidazole which is often used to treat diarrhea. If she does have diarrhea one concerning possible cause is Parvovirus which can cause profound dehydration and sepsis and can be deadly. It sounds like you've already seen a vet with her; please followup with the vet and ask about giving fluids if that hasn't been done. It would help to know what specific tests and treatments (specific medications, doses, etc.) she has had, in order to be able to make any specific suggestions about what to do next. Unfortunately, based on what you are describing it's impossible to say what might be wrong - we would need to know what specific symptoms he has, when you say that you think he has a cold and that he has been sick. Howling is usually something that dogs do when they are lonely, or in response to certain sounds like sirens or high-pitched noises, so I'm not sure how this could be related to his other problems. Since Shadow is not acting like his normal self I would be concerned that there is something going on medically with him. They symptoms you are describing are very vague and could indicate several different things going on. Based on Shadow's age I would be concerned about a metabolic or internal issue such as kidney disease, liver disease, or diabetes. Unfortunately the only way to know if he has these diseases is to have your veterinarian run some blood work. In the meantime, while you are trying to convince your mom to take him to the vet, try to keep him as calm and comfortable at home as possible. I would avoid letting him go outside alone unattended if you can. If his appetite is decreasing try feeding him some plain boiled chicken and rice. I'm sorry you are in such a difficult situation. Contact your local animal shelter or humane society. Either may be able to direct you to a low cost/no cost clinic. You can also contact Red Rover (www.redrover.org) to secure financial assistance with veterinary bills. The Humane Society of the US may also have information regarding assistance on their website as well. In the meantime, offer Daisy some baby food. You can warm it up to stimulate her appetite. If she eats it, mix in some dog food and some unflavored PediaLyte. Feed her as often as she will allow without vomiting.
