My dog shakes head, drools, shows teeth for 5-10 secs. What's wrong?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Male | 3 years and 6 months old | 50 lbs

My dog shakes his head and saliva comes from his month and he is showing his teeth. Looks like a fit a I don't think it is. It only last about 5 to 10 seconds

Sometimes dogs shake their head if their ears are itchy or infected. If you are worried that it may be a seizure, try to video an event so your veterinarian can see exactly what is happening. I would highly encourage that you have Beau examined to help identify the problem and find out what you should be doing for him. Good luck and thanks for using Pet Coach.
