My dog ate too much Sentinel. Is it safe with her Benazepril?

Hello. I would not be concerned. All of these prodcts have been rigourously tested & significant overdoses are a routine part of this testing. Often, 5x the regular dose will be given for weeks & no adverse effects are noted. So a small onetime overdose that your little schnauzer got will not bother her one bit. Hello, sorry to hear about Hillary. Reports of side effects and adverse reactions with this medication are very rare and are associated with GI signs such as (vomiting, a decreased appetited, and nausea). Hillary should be able to tolerate this double dose, however if you note any of these signs persisting over 3-5 days, then have your veterinarian evaluate Hillary. You may resume her normal dosage next month. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Even though Sentinel spectrum is not licensed for cats, in this case there should be no problem with this medication and dosage as the ingredients (milbemycin oxime, lufenuron and praziquantel) each are licensed for cats. There is not enough of each in the 2-8lbs dog dosage to hurt your kitty. I suggest you hide the rest of the sentinel so Maurice does not find it. Praziquantel tends to sometimes make cats vomit, so this could happen within the next 30 minutes or so. This should not be a problem.

Hi and thanks for your post! Yes this is okay. Sentinel does not kill adult fleas, just the eggs. Sentinel also does not prevent ticks as you mentioned in your question. Advantix does, however. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I prescribe Nexgard and Sentinel together multiple times per day. I haven’t heard of any reactions. Just like people some dogs can react to certain medications. If you google any medication for human or animals you will find stories of adverse reactions. No drug doesn’t come without side effects. To be safe give the drugs 2 days apart the first time you give them. I have some clients that give one the 1st of the month and the other mid month. Personally I haven’t heard of any reactions going the 2 together. I hope this helps and I wish you all the best!

Sentinel has no tick coverage and does not kill fleas. It only sterilizes the eggs. I always go up a size to be safe as most dogs gain weight but rarely lose weight. It has a good safety margin so using the 25-50 pounds medicine would be best. You will continue to need the Simparica or nexgard with this
