My dog just had a seizure. What should I feed her and is it her ears?

Two seizures in a 24 hour period are considered "cluster seizures," which generally require anti-epileptic (anti-seizure) medications. The post-ictal (after seizure) period can last for many hours, or even a day, and can cause many subtle behavioral changes and could even affect Blue's appetite. It is possible it may be food related - certain liver issues such as shunts can cause build up of chemicals in the blood causing seizures after food. This would need specific liver blood tests and possibly ultrasound to identify and if present can be managed with diet and medication for the most part although some may require surgery. Certain chemicals and molds in food can also trigger seizures

I'm sorry that Layla is having seizures. Lethargy, stumbling, excessive sleepiness and decreased appetite can all be caused by seizure activity. The brain undergoes an enormous amount of electrical stimulation during a seizure and can take a while to recover. If by the morning she's not improving, I would recommend taking her to your veterinarian for evaluation. They may recommend blood work to look for possible underlying causes of the seizures. I always recommend blood work to start with in any dog that started having seizures. There are a few things that could be diagnosed on blood work that could cause seizures, such as liver disease, kidney disease, electrolyte abnormalities, and infection. If the blood work is normal. Your vet will likely recommend that you continue to monitor Harley for seizure activity. Some dogs will have a seizure or two early in their life and never again. But some develop epilepsy that needs to start on medications. I'm going to assume that your question is what should you do about this, and I'm going to assume that this is a dog. Without knowing the cause of the seizures - i.e. Epilepsy, brain tumor, menigitis, etc - it's really difficult to know what could be going on. Most epileptics will continue to have seizures occasionally, even on anti-seizure meds. But what you're describing - lack of appetite, no water consumption, and not acting normally - are all signs of a possibly serious problem. So please take your dog to see a vet as soon as possible.
