Is it safe for my pets to be near me after I've used Deet bug spray?

For that reason, Chigger may be just fine. I would recommend that you watch him closely and if he does show symptoms such as decreased appetite, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea and/or discomfort have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Hello. Most sprays are safe for pets once the spray has dried, or has been watered into the lawn. I would be sure there are no food or water bowls that might have been sprayed. Either toss them or wash in hot soapy water. The same goes for any chew toys out there. But generally, once a spray has dried, or the area has been watered down & allowed to dry, pets can roam freely, again. The only concerns would be if your dog eats a lot of grass, or finds something to chew on that was left out & sprayed, so keep an eye out for this. Since it was several hours after applying the bug spray I think Willow will be just fine. If the bug spray was going to affect her she would have to ingest a large amount. Just keep an eye on her for now and if she is still acting abnormal after 24 hours or her symptoms change and become more severe then take her to the vet.

We can't even be sure that this particular bug even contacted the chemical. To be safe you can always rinse his mouth out well with water and wash his face. Have a great day!

If you use it for yourself just be sure your skin is covered when Firecracker is around and she doesn't get it on her fur or lick it off your skin. If you are careful I am sure you and still use it and she'll be fine! I hope this helps!

At the proper concentration, Neem Oil is generally considered safe. It is not listed as a toxic plant product for pets per the ASPCA Poison Control Center or Pet Poison Helpline. In its undiluted form though, Neem Oil can potentially irritate the skin surface, especially on already-irritated skin, or if left on for more than 24 hours at a time. In addition, if a non-diluted or insufficiently diluted product is used on a pet and the product is consumed, then a pet could exhibit excessive salivation, appetite changes, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. At the dilution rate you described there should be no issues and I think it will be fine to use. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

As long as the pesticide was completely dried, and you wait the recommended amount of time before entering the house again, your cats should be fine and there should be minimal to no risk of them getting pesticide on their fur :-)
