Why is my dog lethargic, mouth open, drooling, and lip sagging?

This sounds like a serious problem, especially given the chronicity. A neurologic problem with the nerves to the face or a neuromuscular problem (facial muscles) may be options. Unfortunately there are many things that could be causing these symptoms. A good place to start is baseline bloodwork to check organ function along with a full neurologic exam by a vet. If your family vet is stumped then referral to a veterinary specialist (internist or neurologist) is indicated. More testing is needed in a case like this in order to know what is the best treatment. I'm sorry that Speckle isn't feeling well! The drooling and difficulty opening the mouth can be caused by dental issues, masses, or nerve/muscle damage. Your vet can take a good look inside of Speckle's mouth to determine what is going on and recommend the appropriate treatment. Speckle may need x-rays and bloodwork to rule out the conditions above. I hope all is well with Speckle! I know the illness of a pet can be stressful, but it sounds like you are taking great care of your girl!

Poor Thor! I am concerned that he could have a problem with the nerve that innervates his tongue or he could have something like masticatory myositis which affects the muscles of the jaw. Usually with masticatory myositis, the dog will be painful when the mouth is fully opened. If the antibiotics and steroids do not help than consider taking him to a veterinary neurologist or internal medicine specialists for a work up and treatment. If he is not able to drink than your vet can give him subcutaneous fluids to help keep him hydrated.Hope he feels better soon!

There is most likely a wound in the mouth which is why he is drooling. I highly recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I think I understand what you are trying to describe when you say a dropping jawline. If you are indicating that part of Austin's face is drooping while the other side is normal, than this is normally due to some sort of neurologic condition resulting in paralysis of the facial nerve. It can cause excessive drooling, dropping of food, general asymmetry of the facial musculature, and sometimes issues closing the eye on the affected side of the face. The cause of this condition is often a mystery, though some of the causes that are recognized include significant ear infections, trauma, polys in the nose / mouth, and certain types of cancer. Treatment of this condition is completely based on the underlying cause (if it can be identified) and management of the resulting symptoms. Hope this makes sense.

It sounds like Mylo is lethargic, and lethargy is a sign of illness. Unfortunately it's a sign of many illnesses, like a systemic illness, infection, or injury. Without seeing him in person, I can't say what is going on. I'd have him seen by a vet in the morning for a health check.

Poor little LuLu! Lethargy is a very general sign of illness, and it could be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. I would monitor her tonight, and if she is still acting this way in the morning, have her seen by a vet. Best of luck.
