My dog has runny nose & sneezes after dental work. Call vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered

He had teeth cleaned and some teeth extracted last Friday. Now he's got a runny nose and is sneezing. We keep wiping his nose as well. Should we contact the vet? He's already on antibiotics from his teeth. Would the teeth extractions cause him to be like this? Thanks!

Hi, yes I would definitely contact the vet and arrange for Shorty to be checked over. Your vet will want to know if there might be any symptoms possibly related to the dental procedure. Sometimes there can be communication between teeth and nasal area if infection was quite deep, so best to speak to your vet !
