Can I give my dog Rimadyl, Gabapentin, Methocarbamol at once?

However, I do not recommend that you administer any medications if they have not been prescribed by a veterinarian as some of these medications can cause side effects and pre-screening bloodwork should be performed. Use caution. The methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant and has some sedative effects. The Benadryl, as an antihistamines, can be sedating as well. Given together, they may cause extreme lethargy or sedation. Discuss your concerns with your vet prior to administering this combination of medications.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. While I usually use either gabapentin or tramadol, either one can be safely used with the prednisone. But tramadol can be used in conjunction with the gabapentin and a non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication ( or pred ) for chronic pain conditions. Take care.

It is generally not recommended to use these medications more frequently than how they are recommended as that can result in undesirable side effects such as gastrointestinal side effects with carprofen and significant sedation with gabapentin. For that reason, it would best to wait till the morning if that is what was recommended by the prescribing veterinarian. If you are asking if these two medications can be given together 4 hours apart then the answer would be yes. Good luck!

I would give her next dose of gabapentin with food at 5pm. I would not recommend giving any more Rimadyl until you can touch base with your vet tomorrow, because you're right - the vomiting could be from the Rimadyl. Your vet may be able to suggest a different medication to try if they think the Rimadyl didn't sit well with her. The vet may also determine if an anti-nausea medication might be appropriate to help minimize the risk of vomiting while on her meds. Hope this helps! All the best to Chili.

These medications can certainly be given on the same day. No concerns for drug interactions here whatsoever. Please also continue to monitor for any signs of GI upset however from the medications themselves, which includes vomiting, diarrhea or decreased appetite and notify your vet immediately if seen. Only a small percentage of pets will have an adverse reaction to these medications. Both medications should be gien after a small meal. Legally, a pet must be physically examined by a vet before any treatment can be prescribed or recommended. Rimadyl can be used for any muscular or joint inflammation or pain, so it is probably the right choice for Westley. If you get in touch with your local vets, they should be able to advise about the dose for Westley. You will also find Rimadyl dosage on the leaflet, that should be provided with the tablets that were prescribed for Winston.
