My dog has IVDD. Can I give her Methocarbamol, Noxox, and Tramadol?

That is a very commonly-used combination of meds for a pinched nerve or disc problem in dogs, so as long as your dog is tolerating the medication well and you are giving is as prescribed by your veterinarian, I would not have any concerns at all.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. While I usually use either gabapentin or tramadol, either one can be safely used with the prednisone. But tramadol can be used in conjunction with the gabapentin and a non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication ( or pred ) for chronic pain conditions. Take care.

Tramadol and metacam can be given together. They are 2 different drugs with different mechanisms of action and different side effects. Metacam has a very narrow dose whereas tramadol has a wider, safer dose range. Metacam is an NSAID and can cause a variety of side effects, most notably gi ulceration and kidney injury. Dosing of both should be provided by your vet based on your pets health history and bloodwork. Monitoring of bloodwork is very important with metacam use. Hi there. There are no reported contraindications to using methocarbamol with vetmedin, enalapril, or thyroxine. They should all be fine when used together. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.

Use caution. The methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant and has some sedative effects. The Benadryl, as an antihistamines, can be sedating as well. Given together, they may cause extreme lethargy or sedation. Discuss your concerns with your vet prior to administering this combination of medications.

Yes, it is possible that the meds are not strong enough, personally those medications would not be my first choice for IVDD as this is usually a very painful condition and these medications are not strong enough to treat this type of pain. i would recommend contacting you vet in order to switch the Codein with Tramadol and add either Metacam or Rymadil to the treatment as well.
