Why is my dog restless, eyes dilated, and not eating or drinking?

There could be a number of reasons why Princess isn't eating, drinking, shaking, and not having regular bowel movements. I see that she isn't spayed, and the first thing that comes to my mind is a pyometra. This is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. It could also be she got into something rotten or toxic, or could have a foreign body. Her symptoms are very serious, and it's concerning this has been ongoing for three days. I would consider this a medical emergency, especially with the risk of her having a pyometra. She needs veterinary care now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I would recommend that Princess get checked out by a vet. She likely needs some diagnostics to figure out what could be the cause of her symptoms: thorough physical exam, bloodwork, +/- x-rays, +/- ultrasound. Possible causes for her symptoms include diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, Cushing's Disease, Addison's Disease, infection, cancer, among many others.

It sounds like Princess is unwell. She could have a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. I see that she is unspayed, and an infection of the uterus called a pyometra occurs in unspayed dogs and causes these symptoms. For now, I recommend monitoring her. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, and then feed her boiled white meat chicken and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. If she keeps that down, you can slowly add back in her normal diet. Monitor her closely for signs of a pyometra, such as more vomiting, her belly becoming swelling, extreme lethargy, and discharge from her vagina. You can also take her temperature to monitor for fever, which would be above 102.5F. If you see any of those signs I mentioned above, take her into a vet immediately. In addition, if the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomiting the bland diet, she develops diarrhea, she stops drinking water and start vomiting water, or she becomes very lethargic, take her into your vet right away.

Unfortunately, those are quite nonspecific symptoms, and could be consistent with almost any illness. If Prince isn't eating or drinking, and is vomiting, he really needs to be evaluated by a veterinarian. Your vet can determine quite a lot by a good exam, and will then be able to recommend any appropriate diagnostic tests to determine what's wrong. At the very least, your vet can help Prince feel better with supportive care to control his nausea, and give fluids to correct his dehydration. I worry especially with his young age and being such a little guy, he can become dehydrated quickly. I hope he feels better soon!

Yes, I would be worried. First thought of what could be wrong in a dog that is not spayed is a uterine infection (pyometra). This could be life-threatening. I suggest you get her to your vet for an exam. This is not normal behavior and her symptoms are not specific for any one illness or disease process. It may some testing to get it figured out. Tilly needs to be seen by your vet. Staring into space can be a form of seizure activity. At her age many different things could be causing her symptoms. She needs an exam and likely some blood testing and/or x-rays. She cannot go on not eating. Please get her to a vet for an exam.
