Why is my old dog not eating, but drinking, with dark watery poop?

Poor Tilly! Diarrhea is definitely a cause for concern - Tilly may have eaten something she shouldn't have, or developed pancreatitis, inflammation of the bowel, or have an obstruction. If there has only been one episode of diarrhea, you can keep an eye on Tilly. However, if the diarrhea continues, Tilly loses her appetite and energy, or there is blood/mucus present in her stool, then she should be seen by a vet right away!

Poor girl. She may have an internal illness that is causing her to not want to eat and have excessive drinking. Several things could be causing this including a bacterial infection, liver or kidney disease. I would recommend offering her some canned dog food or boiled plain chicken and rice to see if that entices her to eat. However, if she has not eaten after 24 hrs, or seems to be declining at any point, its best to get her seen by your vet for a proper exam and some diagnostic tests (i.e. bloodowork) to help identify the underlying problem so that we know how to best help her. Any continued abnormal symptoms (longer than 24 hours) warrants a vet exam. I cannot tell you what is wrong with her just by your description. There are many different things that could be causing her symptoms. Those symptoms are very vague and could be caused by any illness or disease process. I can tell you that you need to be diligent getting weird symptoms checked out especially with an older dog. Please get her a vet exam as soon as you can. They may recommend running some lab tests and/or x-rays.

There are many different things that can cause these symptoms, so it’s hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine her and do some testing. Some possibilities would include a GI problem like pancreatitis or an intestinal blockage, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or ingestion of something toxic. This sounds quite serious, so I would recommend taking Tilly to an emergency vet today for an exam. The doctor there can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment right away.

Tricia is experiencing very general symptom of disease, this symptom could fit almost any internal condition, maybe she is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe he is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking her to the vet as soon as possible in order to get her checked, if he doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with Tricia.

Your dog needs to be seen by your vet as soon as possible. Any abrupt change in behavior or attitude is a sign he's not feeling well, and without an exam from a vet there's no real way to know what's going on and therefore, how to treat it. He could have eaten something he shouldn't have that's causing an obstruction or irritation, he could have been exposed to something toxic that you weren't aware of, there's a number of possibilities. Your vet will do an exam, lab work, possibly x-rays if indicated, and based on these results, your vet will be better able to understand what is going on with your dog and how best to treat him.
