Why is my sick dog restless after anti-vomit shot and special food?

Vomiting and restlessness can be the first signs of a poisoning, so I would check to see if it's possible that he got into any medication, drugs or other chemicals. If he did get into something, then he should go to the emergency vet for treatment. If he is eating and drinking still, then that would be encouraging that this is not a big problem. Check to see that his gums are pink (not white) and that his belly is not very tense. If those two things are OK, then I would not worry too much tonight and take him to the vet tomorrow if things don't get better. If he vomits continuously and/or starts to have tremors, then this would be signs that he needs emergency treatment. Otherwise, may sure he has plenty of water and avoid feeding anything other than his normal food until he gets over this. I hope that helps and Pugsley gets better soon.

Poor Mac. It sounds like he should be seen by a vet since he seems to be miserable and restless. He could have an infection, pancreatitis, obstruction, metabolic/endocrine issue, etc. If you can't take him to a vet, withhold food for the day and then try a small amount of boiled chicken and white rice if the vomiting stops. If the vomiting continues or he seems lethargic, he needs to see a vet for treatment. Your vet can run labwork and take X-rays, if needed, to diagnose and then prescribe medications to help. An anti-vomiting medication and fluids to prevent dehydration may be needed. Hope he feels better soon.

It sounds as Shiloh is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Depending on what they gave (there are a few different types of anti-vomiting medications), they may be able to give a different medication (you might specifically ask if they carry Cerenia; this may be what they already gave, but it may be a stronger anti-nausea option if they gave something different initially). Beyond that, though, it sounds like more diagnostic information is needed to get to the root of *why* Ziggy is vomiting so he can be treated appropriately. Another thing your vet could do today is provide supplemental fluids for Ziggy, either subcutaneously (under the skin) or as an IV injection (which would require at least several hours of hospitalization) to help with dehydration. However, I definitely agree with your vet that it seems more information is necessary - I agree that an ultrasound will provide helpful information, and if they haven't already run bloodwork, I would request that as well. There definitely can be something more going on with Dobby if he is still uncomfortable. I would bring him back to the veterinarian and get x-rays performed to make sure he is ok. Sorry to hear that Bentley isn't feeling so hot. I guess the shot given to Bentley and the behavior to follow would completely depend upon what that shot is. If the shot was something to prevent further vomiting, then it was most likely something like Cerenia. This is an anti-vomiting drug that is usually very effective in accomplishing this unless there is a mechanical issue within the gastrointestinal tract. I have not heard of it causing any sort of sedation. It could just be that your puppy is a little exhausted from all the vomiting that she has been doing. Some of the flea medications depending on the one that was used can cause lethargy. I would find out which one was used and then ask if that was one of the listed side effects. Other than that, if there are no other clinical signs of concern right now and the vomiting has stopped, I wouldn't worry terribly at this point. Wait another 12 hours and see how Bentley is doing. If the condition does worsen before then, give your vet or an emergency vet a call. Hope this helps you out.
