My dog threw up, saw vet. Why is he still uneasy and won't lie down?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 23 days old | 11.8 lbs

My dog threw up a few times and wasn’t himself this morning. Took him to the vet and he didn’t have a temperature and the exam went well, they gave him an anti nausea injection and sent us home with some gastro food and probiotics. Since we’ve been home he is still uneasy but won’t lie down for morethan a minute then he jumps up and sits, it’s really strange. He’s been doing this for the last few hours, is this a symptom of anything else other than a sensitive stomach?

There definitely can be something more going on with Dobby if he is still uncomfortable. I would bring him back to the veterinarian and get x-rays performed to make sure he is ok. If he vomits over night I would consider going to emergency because he should not be vomiting through the Cerenia injection. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
