My dog has red scabs and smelly ears. Should I take him to vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 20.08 lbs

He has like red dots spread over his body but it lola like they have scabs. He also has a scratch across his chest. Could it be that the other dogs I have hurt him? His ears also smell even though I'm constantly cleaning them every week. I don't know why they smell. It smells like if he had a yeast infection. What should I do? Also, should I take him to the vet For the wounds?

I would recommend taking Boo to the vet to have his ears and skin examined. Boo certainly could have a yeast or bacterial infection in his ears - ear infections are common in dogs and medicated ointments are necessary to treat the infection. It's possible that the scabs and scratch are related to a skin infection, or they could be from trauma. Allergies are a common cause of both ear and skin infections.
