My dog's one eye gets red after playing. Is it allergies or injury?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 6 months old | 33.06 lbs

My dog always when playing with other dogs or running through higher grass, the next morning has iritation on one eye. There is redness and little discharge. I'm giving her eye drops for couple of days, then she is kinda ok. After some time, again, playing, then red eye. How can i improve her imun system so not to put drops every secon week because I doubt that it's healthy for the dog to be treated with drops that often. Thank you in advance

The redness and discharge that you are seeing in Tea's eye could be due to a corneal ulcer/abrasion or underlying allergies. However, I would expect allergy issues to affect both eyes. At this point, I would recommend taking Tea to her vet for an exam and to have her eyes assessed for the presence of a corneal ulcer so that any issue can be treated appropriately. I don't know which eye drops you have been using at this point, so I can't speak to the efficacy or safety of this medication. Always speak with Tea's vet before starting any medication, particularly eye medications. Some eye medications can make issues worse when used incorrectly. I hope that all goes well!

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. I highly recommend that you have Gracie reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further therapy would be based on the findings. They could consider referring you to an ophthalmologist for further advice. Good luck and best wishes!

Hello, yes you definitely need to take him to your vet to get it checked, it's most likely a corneal ulcer, this can happen due to an injury or eye infection, often it can get worse and even cause blindness in that eye, it needs to be treated with special eye drops

Red eyes with discharge in dogs can be due to a variety of reasons, including allergies, an eye infection, a scratched cornea, dry eye, or another underlying issue. While antibiotic drops may help with some of these, they may not fix it depending on what the cause is. I would recommend Eddie be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his eye issue, have any necessary testing done (eye stain, pressure check, tear production check) and what medications (if any) he may need. My dog's red, droopy eyes and discharge recur. What should I do?

Moo is adorable, but his eyes certainly seem uncomfortable given his squinting! Squinting is a sign of eye pain in dogs. Coupled with the yellow/green discharge, it is concerning that he may have an eye infection, corneal ulcer or uveitis (inflammation within the eyes). Allergies may be contributing, but the yellow/green discharge makes me suspicious that there is another issue present. If his eyes are itchy at all, make sure that Moo wears an e-collar (cone) until you can take him to the vet today or tomorrow to prevent further eye injury. I hope that all goes well!

It could be Alfie has some allergies causing the white discharge. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. The vet can diagnose what is causing this discharge, and can treat him. Best of luck.

My dog's eye is red with clear discharge for 2 weeks. Should I worry?

It looks like inflammation of the sclera. It may be due to mild infection or allergic reaction. You should use soothing eye drops, for example Vetericin Plus, or NutriVet drops for 4-5 days. If there is no improvement to that treatment, please take Grainger to your local vets.
