Why is my 8-year-old dog leaking blood from rectum with blood clots?

Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Male | 30 lbs

My Dog is 8 years old, he still eats but he had blood in his stool today along with some very large blood clots. He is also leaking blood from his rectum. This is the first occurrence

It's very serious that Toby is leaking blood from his rectum, and he could have a foreign body, suffering trauma to the GI tract, may have eaten something toxic, or has abscessed or ruptured anal sacs among other causes. This would also cause blood in his stool. He needs to see a vet now to diagnose the cause of his symptoms so he can be treated. Please take him into a vet right away.
