This can be from a mass in the rectum, irritation from pushing out hard stool, or she may have an anal infection causing the bleeding. If this continues I recommend a veterinary exam. They will check the anal sacs and palpate inside the rectum for a mass. Make sure the stool isn’t too firm. Adding fiber to the diet will bulk up the stool and make it easier to pass. A lot of times, it is accompanied by diarrhea. He will likely need an antibiotic to resolve the blood in the stool. The blood coming from his penis is less common. Has there been any blood in his urine? Is he straining to urinate? This can be a sign of a urinary tract infection or bladder stones. Other causes of blood from the urinary system are prostate disease or a mass or irritation on the penis itself. Is there any chance he was exposed to rat poison such as D-con? Blood in faeces can be due to many disorders. It can be due to inflammation due to eating something off, ranging all the way to more serious issues such as tumours of the gut. Due to the many possibilities it is imperative to have the dog examined by a vet. This is the quickest and most reliable way to get to the bottom of what is going on. Hi, sorry to hear about these problems with your pup. First I would consider changing his food onto something for a dog with a sensitive stomach and se if that helps at all. Blood in firm stool can indicate straining so it's possible the food has too much fiber in it and is making his stool too hard. You can try a prescription diet made by Hill's called ID which is for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Also, you might want to look into an abdominal ultrasound or endoscopy to check for Inflammatory bowel disease. I don't think X rays will show up with much, i would go straight to the ultrasound. If they see anything suspicious, during endoscopy they can take biopsies. But then again, if he's not bothered by it in any way and keep on weight with a good appetite, it may just be food related or something he will grow out of. I would monitor him for those signs and pursue more diagnostics if you see them. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Your dog may have an injury in his anus or rectum, or a polyp or he may have an impacted anal gland. I strongly recommend you take him to your veterinarian as an impacted or infected anal gland is very painful and needs to be evacuated, or lanced and flushed. Blood in the poop can be from intestinal parasites, polpys or a mass, irritation of the intestines from eating bones, intestinal inflammation or from infected anal sacs. Diarrhea with blood can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. Blood in the stool makes it a more serious condition and does warrant an evaluation.
