My 4-month Rottweiler puppy vomits after drinking and is lethargic.

It sounds as Harry is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Royal is very cute! Since she seems to be doing well otherwise I would first suspect intestinal parasites. I would also be concerned about a GI obstruction or foreign body. Congrats on your nephew's new puppy, but I'm sorry that Mia is sick! While puppies can have reactions to deworming treatments such as vomiting, dewormers are typically very safe. An allergic reaction to a deworming medication would be very rare. In addition, it should not still be sick from the deworming treatment days afterwards. To me, that suggests there could be something more wrong with her. Given her age, she won't be fully vaccinated, and one of the diseases I would be most concerned about is parvovirus. This is a very deadly disease of unvaccinated dogs, and it's extremely contagious. This causes vomiting, and dehydration from this vomiting will occur especially if she can't keep down water. Dehydration is the number one cause of death in these puppies. Because I can't see her in person to rule out parvovirus or another cause of the vomiting such as a GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body, I do think having her seen by a vet now is for the best. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I'm sorry to hear that Polly isn't feeling well. Vomiting, lethargy, not drinking and a loss of appetite are quite concerning signs, particularly in a puppy since younger animals are more susceptible to the affects of dehydration than adult dogs. Polly may have a significant gastrointestinal virus, a foreign body intestinal obstruction, parvovirus (unlikely if she was fully vaccinated), among others. At this point, the best thing you can do is take Polly to her vet for an exam and diagnostic testing to get to the bottom of the situation. Polly may need to be hospitalized for IV fluids, or even require surgery if she has a foreign body intestinal obstruction. I hope that all goes well!

Diarrhea for 48 hours in a 8 week old puppy is a concern, as puppies get dehydrated much more quickly than adult dogs, and don't have the same back-up mechanisms to protect blood pressure that adult dogs do. I recommend you take Mato to a vet. They will check for parvo-virus, parasites, and other conditions. They will also likely discuss IV fluids, or SQ fluids, and might get you a medication based on the diarrhea, such as a dewormer or a gut protectant. Best of luck with Mato!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rox. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. He should be seen today if ar all possible. His symptoms are vague, but worrisome in a dog of his age. The veterinarian will examine him and determine if he is perhaps experiencing orthopedic pain or an internal issues. Testing such as blood work or x-rays may be warranted. Based on these results, treatment can be started to help him feel better. In the meantime, help him when he needs to move. You can use a towel under his hips as a sling to him get up and to walk. Do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!
