Why does my 6-month-old poodle puppy have a red spot on her neck?

That lesion is very irritated on Nana's poor little neck! Lesions like this can be related to trauma, a skin infection, the beginning of a hot spot or an infected cyst under the skin. I can't tell from the photo, but if it looks like bruising, then there is also a concern for a bleeding disorder and she needs to get to the vet right away. Assuming there is no bruising, I recommend to have the lesion examined by the veterinarian since it is so red. There are a few things you can do at home that may help until you get her into the vet. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You can wash the lesion with soap once a day and rinse well (don't wash her whole body, just the spot). Protect the areas from licking or scratching. This looks like a tumor with necrosis. without a hands-on exam , however it is not possible to tell exactly. This may also be an abscess, a cyst or a tumor. You should have it examined by your veterinarian, as it is not possible to distinguish these by just looking at a photo. An abscess can usually be treated with antibiotics and/or be lanced, and a cyst can be evacuated. To identify a tumor, your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning.

Skin disease in dogs is frustrating as many causes can present with the same appearance. You can start with bathing her with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as oatmeal based formula. If this does not resolve it, then Sshe he will need to see her veterinarian. I start by ruling out infectious causes such as ringworm, mites or fleas. It could be that Pixie is suffering from puppy pyoderma, which is a skin infection. She could also have petechiae, which is tiny pin points of blood caused by a bleeding disorder. Without seeing her in person, there is no way I can say for certain what is cousin these red spots. The only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing these spots on her skin and can treat her for it.

Skin lesions like Coco has can be caused by bacterial, parasitic or fungal infection, dietary or environmental allergies or sensitivities, immune system disorders, an insect bite like you mentioned, or a combination of the above. With her age I would worry about a ringworm or an infection or mange that is causing that lesion. Ring worm can be contagious to both people and other animals. You can keep Neosporin on the area to keep it clean until you can get to the vet to be checked for sure.
