My dog has a dime-sized spot with red inside on her neck. What is it?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 28 days old | 5 lbs

Happy New Year, my dog has a dime size callus spot on her left side of her neck. It does have some red spots inside it too.

With her age I would worry about a ringworm or an infection or mange that is causing that lesion. Ring worm can be contagious to both people and other animals. You can keep Neosporin on the area to keep it clean until you can get to the vet to be checked for sure.

    This area definitely looks like a possible hot spot. It certainly could be a ringworm spot if the area is crusty on the edges. If it is not crusty, then a hot spot is more likely which should resopond well to some topical antibiotic spray or cream.
