Why is my dog pooping white? Should I be worried about their health?

Sometimes a change in diet will cause the stool to change color. Sometimes a mild viral infection can also cause this but again, I would not worry unless she loses her appetite or becomes lethargic. This can be a sign that the food she has eaten is moving too quickly through the GI tract to pick up bile. It can also be a sign of a liver or biliary issue. Given that she is ok otherwise, I'd keep an eye on her for now. If she develops other signs such as vomiting, lethargy, or loss of appetite, then I would be very concerned and have her seen by an ER vet right away. Otherwise, it's fine to wait until Monday to have her seen. This weekend, feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice. I hope this helps.

It's possible that her poop is white because the mineral content of her diet is too high. If she's on a grain free or boutique food, or worse a home cooked diet. I'd recommend switching to a reputable brand like Hills, Purina, or Royal Canin to see if that helps at all. That could be compatible with a disease of the liver, responsible for he pigments inside the feces. I would recommend to change diet for the next week, feeding with a bland diet based on chicken and rice. If signs persist a check up and blood tests at your local vets are required.

I think it is completely unrelated to the bumps. It’s sort of hard to tell what the white thing in the stool is, however I wouldn’t be too concerned as long as he’s otherwise acting normally. It looks most like a bit of foreign material such as a piece of white crayon or something, especially if it was just the one relatively large piece of white stuff. If his stools get soft, if you are seeing increasing amounts of the white material in the stool, or he starts vomiting or acting ill, take him to your vet. While it is not normal I would not worry about that. It is possibly for eating something he was not supposed to that caused it. Unless there is blood or diarrhea or vomiting then there is nothing to do
