My dog met a stray with pink eye growths. Are they contagious?

These are a result of the canine papilloma virus and it is likely that Georgia picked it up from another dog. It is possible that your other dog could get it but if your other dog is much older, it is less likely to happen. These bumps typically go away on their own but can take months to resolve. Jager looks like he may have canine papilloma virus on his lip. This is a common viral infection that is transmitted between dogs and generally goes away on it's own in 2-4 weeks. Unfortunately I cannot tell what is going on with his eye by the picture alone. I would recommend you take him in to your vet for an exam as his eye may need further treatment like a topical antibiotic for a potential stye or infected tear duct. The lump on his mouth can be checked at the same time to ensure that it is just a papilloma and not a concern.

Hi, thanks for using Petcoach! Thanks for the picture, it really helps in this case! Those bumps in his mouth are viral papillomas. They are very contagious from dog to dog. They take 1-2 months to incubate so I do not think they are from yesterdays play session. I would warn that dog's owner that their dog may get them. They are benign and will go away on their own. When I see a dog with them on appointment I crush a few of them to make them bleed and place the dog on azithromycin for 10 days. That tends to stimulate the dogs immune system quicker to help fight the viral infection. Blue should not play with other dogs until all the lesions are gone. Paul appears to have a conjunctivitis, which is inflammation of the tissues around the eye. This can be from viral or bacterial causes. Depending on cause this can be contagious to other livestock. Keep quarantines from other animals and I suggest a veterinary examine him to determine cause and approriate treatment.

Pinkeye, or infectious conjunctivitis, is contagious and is usually spread through direct contact with another dog. It looks identical to other types of conjunctivitis including allergic conjunctivitis, and there is not a good test to differentiate between them. It is possible that Hercules has allergic conjunctivitis if he is having recurrent signs. It is also within the realm of possibility that Herc's friend is an asymptomatic carrier, although this is not common and I cannot find reference to any specific cases. Regardless, it sounds like Herc should see the vet for a work up and to discuss ongoing treatment!
