On short=term use it is not necessary to taper off the Temaril-P. Check with your veterinarian though. I would still finish the prescribed course, as this medication also takes inflammation and that could still be present after the coughing stops.

The tapering dose that was prescribed to you is important to prevent any side effects of the medication. Some side effects that can occur include GI upset (decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea) and increased drinking and urinating. Please provide some more information on the medications she is on. Incontinence is quite common in females and can be treated medically once complicating factors such as inflammation, infection and stones are ruled out

It's possible she just got wrapped up in the moment of playing and then suddenly had the urge to urinate without bothering to ask to be let outside. Dogs sometimes exhibit odd behavior like this such as urinating on beds, couches, etc. I would advise just monitoring her for any signs that her urinary problems are returning. Sometimes urinary problems can be seen but the urinalysis is essentially normal, like in her repeat urinalysis. Watch for signs of increased thirst, increased urination, frequent urination, straining, and inappropriate urination. If these occur she may have a recurrence of the problem despite a fairly normal urinalysis. I hope this was an isolated incident and she doesn't relapse in her house training due to a urinary issue. Temaril p is a combination antihistamine and steroid used to help with allergies. Some dogs have environmental allergies that are seasonal and based in exposure. This can be to things such as dust, pollen, grasses...things you can't control. They do make safer immunosuppressive medicine such as Apoquel that helps with this if needed

This is not a typical side effect of carprofen with the most common side effects being gi in origin. Is your pet drinking more water as well? As these drugs (nsaids) can affect the kidneys increased thirst/urination is sometimes related to this. Other options could be he is sore and not making it outside as often or has a urinary tract issue (bladder/prostate).
