My dog has some awful allergies! She itches&bites so bad that at one point she looked as if she had mange! She bleeds, loses hair, licks her under belly until its red, sticky&then turns somewhat crusty. So we took her to the vet&he said it was some type of allergy coming into the area. Periodically, he gives her an allergy shot(not sure what it's called)&it seems to help a bit. After she gets the shot, she has no control over her bladder. She has never peed in the house. Why is this?

Hi there. Without knowing what specific medications she's taking, it's hard to say. But, if she is on a steroid such as prednisone, this can certainly cause increased drinking and urination, and will cause some dogs to have accidents in the house. I would suggest calling your veterinarian tomorrow to discuss your concerns. He/she may recommend decreasing her steroid dose (if she's currently taking one), or switching to a different medication to help with these side effects.
