If you are noticing an increased frequency of urination, she needs to be checked for a UTI. Since she can't talk and tell you, you have to look into it. Have her anal glands checked as well. I hope this helps.

Stress related (idiopathic type of inflammation) infection and presence of crystals are the most common causes of it. Another clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Ultrasound or x rays of the abdomen may be needed as there may be stones inside the bladder (which does not show up on urine analysis). While it is normal (although frustrating) to have “good” days and “bad” days while house training a puppy, the episodes you describe may be an indication of something more serious, such as a UTI. This is definitely possible if Phoebe is straining to urinate, urinating small amounts, or has reddish colored urine and if you notice her licking her vagina more frequently. I’m sorry to hear about Bruno! I am concerned that he might have developed a urinary tract infection. There is one medication (prednisone/prednisolone) they can caused increased urination and drinking but those should stop as soon as the medication was stopped. The UTI may be even more likely if he’s recently hurt his back or neck because they tend not to posture/squat all the way or for long enough when it hurts. So they hold their urine longer than they might otherwise do or don’t empty their bladder fully. These can predispose to UTI. Take Bruno (and a urine sample if you can catch one) in to the vet to do a urine test and get on antibiotics if that’s what it turns out to be. The urine test will also screen for other causes of accidents like diabetes and kidney disease. Hope this helps and best of luck to you and Bruno!

If the antibiotics didn't make much difference, I'd be suspicious of puppy vaginitis, which is a relatively common inflammatory condition that can lead to accidents and sometimes make them more susceptible to urinary infections. It generally resolves with age. I would also check for a stricture (this may require sedation as they don't love vaginal palpation...). For now, since your vet hasn't been able to check a urinalysis, that would be the first priority. See if you can get a sample- sneak a small container under her when she squats. If you have to hold onto the sample a few hours before dropping it at your vet, stick it in the fridge, but the fresher the better. If you're having no luck, your vet can collect a sterile sample via cystocentesis. Hope this helps.

This sounds like it's more likely to be behavioral, from your description - but if it's a recent change for Chichi, it's always a good idea to have a urinalysis done just to make sure. If any evidence of infection or other abnormalities are found, your vet can start her on appropriate medication to treat the problem.
