My dog is leaking urine and shaking. What's wrong with her bladder?

I would strongly recommend having your veterinarian examine Spot and check a urine sample on her. We very commonly see urinary tract infections in older female dogs, so if that is what is going on, her symptoms will only get worse until she is treated. She may have a urinary infection or a puppy vaginitis. I recommend having a urinalysis done and an exam to see if there is a medical problem. Puppies do urinate frequently but if this is abnormal for her then please get treatment so it doesn’t worsen. Usually a course of oral antibiotics will be prescribed. Without any further information or clinical signs there are an infinite number of problems that could be going on. If she is weak and swaying then this could be a life threatening emergency and she should be seen immediately. If there is any chance that she has been exposed to any toxins, prescription medications, or recreational drugs please make sure to tell the veterinarian what she may have had access to. After a physical examination the veterinarian may have more of an idea about the potential problem. They may recommend lab work or an x-Ray to give them more information. This sounds like Chewy has a urinary infection, bladder stones or prostate problem that is affecting his bladder. There are no home remedies for this. I recommend an exam and urinalysis to determine the cause of the uncontrolled urinating. He may also have some nerve damage, or a hormonal problem causing the urine leakage. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Chi Chi! The most common reasons for straining to urine, urinary accidents and bloody urine are: urinary tract infections (UTI), crystals in the urine, bladder stones and if she is an older dog a bladder or urethral tumor. I recommend collecting a urine sample and bringing her to the Vet before the weekend as she is very uncomfortable. The urine sample can determine if she has an infection or crystals and an X-ray is needed to check for bladder stones. I wish Chi Chi a speedy recovery!
