My dog is peeing clear, lying in it, and won't play. Is she sick?

The most common diseases that cause dogs to drink and urinate more are urinary tract infections, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, cushings disease, and addisons disease. If the urinalysis was negative for infection then, hopefully, the bloodwork will help diagnose the problem. Hopefully, the bloodwork will be back in the morning. Hope she feels better soon!

If this is a recent behavior change for Luna, I would be suspicious of an underlying medical problem causing her to have accidents. Some common possible problems that can cause dogs to urinate in inappropriate places would include a urinary tract infection, bladder stones, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, Cushing's disease, or even a bladder tumor. I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam as soon as you are able to - he/she can do a urinalysis as well as blood work or x-rays if needed to help determine the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment.

Poor girl. Unfortunately her symptoms are very non-specific towards one disease process or another. They are very vague indeed. It sounds like she is having decreased appetite and lethargy. I would have her examined by your vet to gather more clues about her condition. Her vitals need to be checked and she may need additional testing like a fecal exam or bloodwork to get to the underlying problem. She could have a number of things going on including an infection or a congenital defect. I do hope that your puppy is going to be ok moving forward. Best of luck and take care.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Urine can look deceptively clear, but still be perfectly normal. The only way to know for sure is to collect a sample of urine in a clean container & take it to your vet ( or take Scribbles to the vet for a complete check up ). We can do a quickie urinalysis that includes a measure of the dissolved solids in urine. This is a very good indication of what her overall kidney function might be. But as long as she has resumed eating & drinking, it is not an emergency, but at her age, a good check up might be in order. Take care.

He will pee constantly if he’s drinking that much. He may also be losing sodium in the urine causing him to want to lick sweaty people to get additional salt. That much drinking and urine are not normal and could be a sign of kidney disease. I recommend a veterinary exam and blood work to check his kidney function and check for diabetes which also could cause these signs. Early diagnosis of a medical problem will help get him the proper treatment if needed and could prevent progesssion of the disease. Hi there. Urinating while sleeping is not normal, and is usually a sign of a medical condition. Clear urine without much odor can also be caused by a number of different conditions including diabetes, Cushing’s disease, or chronic kidney disease. I would recommend taking Chico to the vet for an exam when you are able to. He/she can do blood and urine testing to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

It can be caused by an infection, bladder stones or crystals in the urine.
