Why is my dog's urine still clear after she stopped eating?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 9 years and 2 months old | 9 lbs

Hi Scribbles suddenly stopped eatting and drinking on Tues. Her urine is clear. I dulitued Pedialyte with broth gave cottage cheese. She didn't wants anything not even treats. Seemed more mopey then usual. Today she started eattingband drinking on Her own. However urine is still clear. No temp, gums nice and pink stools are normal not as frequent.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Urine can look deceptively clear, but still be perfectly normal. The only way to know for sure is to collect a sample of urine in a clean container & take it to your vet ( or take Scribbles to the vet for a complete check up ). We can do a quickie urinalysis that includes a measure of the dissolved solids in urine. This is a very good indication of what her overall kidney function might be. But as long as she has resumed eating & drinking, it is not an emergency, but at her age, a good check up might be in order. Take care.

If Scribbles has a decreased appetite or has not eaten in 3 days, then I would probably be more concerned. Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Romeo. Yes if he's drinking a lot of water, you can expect him to pee more and to see clear urine. His urine is very dilute from drinking lots of water. If he had a problem with his kidneys, you could see blood in his urine, peeing multiple times but in small amounts, lethargy, and possibly a loss of appetite. I hope this helps!

My dog's urine is clear. Is he too hydrated or is it serious?

Very dilute urine can be a sign of good hydration, however it can also be a sign of kidney function decrease. The kidneys are in charge of the boys' fluid reserves, however if they start to decline they can stip being able to concentrate urine. This is less likely in a fog of Oliver's age. If you notice only clear urine for a week I would advise taking him to the veterinarian for blood work to check kidney function. If it fluctuates bwteeen normal color and clear it less likely anything of concern.

Why isn't my dog drinking or eating, but still peeing yellow?

This could indicate that something is wrong with Roxy. Her urine is so yellow likely because she is not drinking much water. I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would have her blood tested and her urine as well. Is my dog's clear urine caused by her diet of curd, lauki, chapatti?

Chhutki needs to be a dog food only. I would feed her Royal Canin. No the food you are feeding her has nothing to do with the color of her urine. She could be drinking a ton of water if it's hot out leading it to be clear, or she could have a kidney issue. I cannot say what is causing it without seeing her in person, which is why I told you in your previous question to take her into a vet.

Why is my pet's urine milky, dark, thick, and they sleep more?

I recommend you check in with your veterinarian so that they can check the urine for the possibility of an infection. They may start antibiotics if they are concerned about an infection. My dog is peeing clear, lying in it, and won't play. Is she sick?

Oh dear! Luna sounds very sick, as it's never normal for a dog to urinate and just lay in it, and it sounds like she's acting very lethargic in general. Clear-looking urine can be caused by a number of different things, including diabetes, chronic kidney failure, or Cushing's disease. Because this sounds like a serious problem, I would strongly recommend taking her to the vet today to be seen. He/she can do blood work and urine testing if needed to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment.
