My Lhasa Apso's front paws turn out. Are his angular wrists normal?

I recommend to have Nino King examined today. A sudden change in the angulation of the joint could indicate a slipped tendon or subluxation. The vet needs to figure out what is happening. I hope they do so quickly.

I'd have Luca checked out by a vet and have x-rays done to make sure there isn't a growth plate abnormality causing this turning of the paws. If there is one, the vet can discuss treatment options which may include surgery. Best of luck.

Congrats on the adoption! The leg positioning is sometimes called "Queen Anne" legs, or leg splay, and is very common in short-legged long-bodied dogs such as Dachshunds or Basset Hounds. While it doesn't usually cause any harm and isn't dangerous in minor cases, it can sometimes cause additional arthritis or joint issues down the line and sometimes requires surgical repair in severe cases, so preparing for proactive care such as a joint supplement and regular check-ups of the legs is a good idea. Since Sport's legs do look very splayed, a vet check up after adoption to make sure there isn't any arthritis present (and it isn't affecting any of the other tissues in the legs) is also smart.

Without seeing him myself my first thought is that he has carpus valgus which is a congenital abnormality that cannot be fixed. If you really want to know if there is anything you can do you would need to take him to an orthopedic specialist for a consultation. Bone deformities are not an unusual problem for this breed. It could be that he has elbow dysplasia and depending on the severity there may be a surgery that could help him. I strongly suggest you get him to a specialist for an exam and x-rays. It appears he has a valgus deformity, which is where the foot twists out to the side laterally. This usually happens secondary to uneven growth of the radius and ulna. Surgery is the treatment for this. You will need to have him seen by a vet for this and to discuss surgery. Best of luck.

From the pictures, it looks like Bruno is suffering from valgus deformity of his front legs. This is when there is a lateral (outward) turn of the feet. It occurs when the ulna stops growing while the radius continues to grow, causing the radius to begin bowing at the top and rotating outward. This is can cause discomfort to Bruno and it is something that can be fixed surgically. You can speak to your vet about surgical treatment of this deformity.

This is common in some toy and small breeds and is not treatable but in other cases can be nutritional or due to joint problems. I recommend a full physical check up, acupuncture and chiropractic care may help if no obvious cause is identified
