If only Caesar could talk! This type of behavior could be related to something medical like a stomach ache or it could be behavioral. The greenish color of the stool can indicate bacterial infection as well. Unfortunately, it's impossible to know which one is the cause without a physical exam and checking the stool. I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian who will check for abnormalities on the physical exam. They may also try a trial of medications to soothe the stomach. They will likely test him for intestinal parasites (so bring a fresh stool sample with you if you can) and test for parvovirus. If those tests are normal, they may take radiographs of his abdomen to look for foreign objects in his GI tract. Once a diagnosis is made they can discuss treatment options. She may have an upset stomach, maybe she ate something she shouldn't have, swallowed something that is causing an obstruction, parasites, or an infection of some kind are possibilities. I recommend getting he seen by your vet, especially if she isn't feeling well. Your vet will do an exam, labwork and possibly x-rays. Based on these findings, they will be able to give you a better idea of what is going on and give you treatment options.

You can try her on a bland diet of white meat and rice or Hill’ s gastro-intestinal formula for a couple of days, and some probiotics such as Canikur or Protekin Prokolin and see if things settle over the next 3-4 days. If she should still pass soft feaces then it’s best you bring in a feacal sample to your vet to be examined for parasites and bacteria.

I am very concerned about Pilly, it sounds like he has a very upset stomach! My top concern would be a blockage in his intestines caused by something that he ate, like a toy, bone, sock, trash, etc. This would also prevent food from moving through his system and turning into feces. Other possibilities include bacterial or viral infection, intestinal parasites, or other internal issue. I recommend that Pilly see a vet as soon as possible. Your vet will probably recommend x-rays and maybe even blood work depending on what they discover during the physical exam.

Did anyone feed him anything other than his puppy food? If so he may have an upset stomach. He can also have one if he has intestinal parasites or a virus. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Some dogs are compulsive drinkers and behaviorally will drink non-stop if allowed. If she is also urinating a lot and is underweight I’d recommend a vet exam, blood work and fecal testing. I’d assume at her young age the drinking excessively is behavioral. If she isn’t active and not in the heat limit her water intake a bit. As for her appetite if she is underweight then I’d be concerned for parasites or a digestive disorder. Shepherds can be affected by pancreatic insufficiency and inflammatory bowel disease. If she is underweight then increase her food by 25% every 2-4 weeks until she had has ideal body condition.
