My dog's nose is scratched after a fight. Will his smell be okay?

This does not appear to be a bite of any form. Could be scratches. I don't see anything here that I would be overly concerned with and I don't think your vet would do anything at this stage either. If you want to try something I would recommend you use this wound spray on the nose. It won't hurt her if he licks it off but I suggest you try to minimize that because if he licks it off, it can't work. So, I suggest soaking a cotton ball with the spray and then wiping it on the nose. Dogs don't typically like being sprayed in the face; you don't want to scare him. Put it on and then distract him for a few minutes with a Kong filled with treats or something similar to get his mind off of it. It should dry rather quickly and you don't need to use a lot - just a very thin layer twice a day. Hi there! Good job cleaning with plain warm water- that is perfect! That wound is fairly superficial and will likely heal just fine on its own. If it's dirty, just a simple wipe with warm water should be sufficient. I generally recommend keeping scratches like that open to air, so no need to use neosporin. If you already put some on her and she licked it off, there should not be any problems though. Hello! Nadi should be fine, you can also apply vitamin E oil to help her heal more quickly. Due to location, there isn't much your veterinarian will be able to do to close the wound, and it looks healthy and shallow. I hope that helps! Since she is able to lick it, it's not advised to put anything on it. The best way to ensure it stays clean and doesn't get infected is to flush the wound with clean water, or saline twice a day for five minutes. Flush the wound with a syringe using a good amount of force. She won't like it, so you'll probably need someone to help hold her. If the wound happens to get swollen, very red and/or is leaking pus, then it would be best to take Molly to a veterinarian for treatment. I hope that helps and all is well with Molly.

This is a difficult place to put anything on, because it will just be licked off. From what I'm seeing in the picture, it is a very minor abrasion, so I would not be to worried about it getting any worse. For now, it's best to just keep the wound clean by wiping it with warm water occasionally. This should be completely healed within the next two weeks.

Hi, From what described above as superficial scratch and no active bleeding, which was cleaned and locally treated with antibiotic it possible it can wait for a few days. But if any if these signs present: bleeding, bothering him and he start scratching/ licking, redness, foul smell or discharge please take him to the vet earlier. In the meantime keep the area clean and you can continue with the antibiotic ointment under supervision to make sure he is not licking it due to the location which makes it easy for the dog to lick. This most certainly could be an infection, especially if it has been a week since the scratch and it looks like this. If it is bothering Tigre, she may be rubbing her nose on the floor making it much worse. I would recommend having this examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. She may need an oral and topical antibiotic for treatment.
