My dog's nose is pink after a scratch. Will it turn black again?

If the abrasion was severe enough it may cause scarring of the tissue and lead to permanent depigmentation. If the abrasion is only superficial (which it appears to be in this pic) the pigmentation will likely return.

There are a number of reasons for loss of pigmentation on a dog's nose, most of them just cosmetic, which is what yours appears to be. As long as the skin remains healthy and normally textured, I would just to bring it up to your vet the next time your dog is in for his annual visit or take a picture and send it to them now to see what they have to say about it. Any products you put on it might just cause a bacterial skin infection due to the moisture, or he will likely lick it off. Just leave it alone to heal on it's own. It might take a few weeks. Hello, Lioh's may be undergoing de-pigmentation changes in his nose either due to sun allergy if he is outdoors a lot or a form of vitiligo. If sun allergy, this can be very itchy and may spread to other parts of the body. Vitiligo is mainly a cosmetic change that doesn't require medical management. You may monitor for sneezing, bleeding, or rubbing at his nose and consider taking him to your veterinarian if he is showing any of these. Otherwise, he looks like a very cute guy. Hope this helps

This does not appear to be a bite of any form. Could be scratches. I don't see anything here that I would be overly concerned with and I don't think your vet would do anything at this stage either. If you want to try something I would recommend you use this wound spray on the nose. It won't hurt her if he licks it off but I suggest you try to minimize that because if he licks it off, it can't work. So, I suggest soaking a cotton ball with the spray and then wiping it on the nose. Dogs don't typically like being sprayed in the face; you don't want to scare him. Put it on and then distract him for a few minutes with a Kong filled with treats or something similar to get his mind off of it. It should dry rather quickly and you don't need to use a lot - just a very thin layer twice a day. It looks like Wemwem probably rubbed her nose on something and if this is the case it should go back to normal. If it doesn’t seem improved in a week or two or if you notice scabs or more spots I’d recommend seeing your vet to make sure it’s not a skin infection or parasite.

Being boarded can be a stressful situation for dogs. I would ask the kennel if the staff noted him rubbing his nose. It is very common for them to run their noses on the bars or bottom of wired cages/crates. This may have been stress related, excitement related (seeing another dog), or boredom related (not getting as much exercise as usual). It can also happen if they flip bowls/bedding with their nose. For nose rubbers it is best to find a boarding situation with less opportunity for this to happen. Like asking for runs with glass doors and not wire crates/cages and facilities that offer some outdoor space or more exercise time. Hopefully the area will not scar but it could take some time for the pigment to reappear. It may not look quite the same as the surrounding tissue.
