How to help a dog with a nasal tumor's sneezing, bleeding, breathing?

Poor Yogi! It’s hard to know if this is related to the tumor or a problem by itself. Since you saw the blood in the phlegm, I recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian. Even if this is related to the tumor there are medications that can control inflammation and keep him more comfortable. One thing you can do at home that may help us start him on an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for dogs. This will act as a natural anti-inflammatory and improve the lining of the respiratory tract. Causes of nose bleeds are: trauma, foreign body in the nose, bacterial or fungal infections, low platelets, clotting disorders, cancer, tick borne diseases. The nose bleed could be from the chemo knocking her platelets down too low or sadly it could be that the lymphoma is in her nasal cavity. I recommend you take her to your Vet or her oncologist and have them run a CBC to check her platelets. They can also put her on a Chinese herbal remedy that can help stop bleeding called Yunnan Baiyao. I wish Daisy the best!!

Oh my! Poor baby. I had another case similar to this and I took a piece of the tissue and sent it in for biopsy and also a bacterial and fungal culture. I would talk to your vet about doing this. I think this is the first step. You can also look up the herb yunnan bai Yao and talk to your vet about this to help control the bleeding. If it is a tumor, there isn’t much you can do about it unless you want to go see a specialist. A specialist could potentially remove it to help him feel better. Surgically removing it may not be curative. I hope this helps o guide you in his treatment.

I am sorry, but there is no cure for cancer. Small tumors can be removed surgically and then undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapy depending on the type of tumor and if clean margins were made during surgery. If this is not an option for Hundoll, then he would be considered for hospice-type care. I would recommend that you have have him evaluated by a vet for pain. You can feed him whatever he wants at this point. Acupuncture may help with some of the pain, but it won't be able to stop the growth of the tumor. You may be able to find a vet in your area that uses herbal remedies, but they need to be prescribed after careful examination of the dog.

I think you need to get a second opinion from another vet, preferably one who has a rhinoscope and can actually look into your dog's upper respiratory passages. By examining the nasal passages with a rhinoscope one will be able to see whether there is a tumor present or more plant debris or foreign material that may need to be removed and so stop the constant infections and bleeding. Your vet may be able to refer you to a relevant clinic.

Nose bleeds that are persistent in an older dog are highly suspicious of cancer or a fungal infection. Trauma to the nose is also possible, but unlikely to result in chronic bleeding episodes. I am so sorry but Bubbalina needs to be seen by your vet right away for testing (Bloodwork +.- radiographs). If cancer is present, then steroids may be recommended to try and slow down the progression and also supportive care can be provided to Bubbalina to hopefully make her more comfortable. I am so sorry to hear about Savannah. You can try using nasal saline drops to help loosen the mucus (like Little Noses for infants). You can use that 2-3 times per day as needed. I hope this helps. Kisses to Savannah!
