How big will my 6-week-old mixed breed puppy get as an adult?

At 4 months and weighing only 6 lbs, I would guess (without seeing a picture of your dog0 that he won't be over 15 pounds. I wish you the best!

He is certainly a cutie! It is truly impossible to determine the origins of a mixed breed dog based on appearances. particularly one this young. I can see what could be cane corso or another mastiff/bully breed in his face. If you want to know his lineage I would recommend a genetic test. You can order the Wisdom Panel online or ask your vet if they have a test they can perform. As far as his size, it will depend on his parents if you have seen them, or for a very rough estimate we sometimes will see what the weight at 3 months is and triple this for a guess at adult size.

What a cute puppy! Looking at his age, current weight and build, I would guess somewhere between 40-50lbs. This is completely a guess however. There is a breed analysis called Wisdom Panel and it is fairly accurate on the adult size and is very accurate for the breeds detected. It is very difficult to assess in the picture as there are very few landmarks to judge relative size. He appears to be a medium-large breed and would likely be 25-40kg. I would err on the side of caution and feed a large breed puppy diet in order to optimise bone and joint development and allow for steady growth to his full potential

Hi there. I'm afraid it's not possible to tell what breed a puppy is just by looking at a photo, as coat color and length, general body shape, etc. often change a great deal as puppies grow. From what I can see, he looks like a medium-to-large breed of some sort. Possibly some kind of retriever mix, but that's just a guess. If you don't have any information about his parents, your best bet would be to have a DNA test such as a Wisdom panel done. This would give you more information about what breed (or mix of breeds) he is, which would allow you to make a more educated guess about his adult size and weight.

From the picture, it appears that Luna is at an adequate weight for her age. As she grows, her weight will fluctuate. Without examining her it is difficult to say for sure but if her ribs are too prominent, this typically means she is underweight. As long as you are feeding for what the bag of dog food recommends for her age, she should gain weight normally. Again, let me emphasize that at times, while puppy's are growing, they may seem underweight when in actuality they are going through rapid growth which will slow down and the weight will eventually catch up to a normal body weight. Unfortunately that's hard to know exactly because he is a mixed breed. Mixed dogs can some grow larger than either parent. In general, small breed puppies reach adult height around 6-8 months of age so I suspect (as a guess) he may only grown another inch or two. He will gain weight and fill out until about 8-10 months of age. I suspect he may end up around 9-10lbs. This will depend though on which parent he takes after. Maltese tend to be light boned and thin where as Shih Tzu's tend to be heavier boned and have a stockier build. Again, know this is all a guess. Sometimes puppies can be late bloomers. Your veterinarian can get a better idea based upon Comet's bone structure. I hope this helps.
