My dog ran out of medication. Is it safe for her to miss a day?

Just remember to give him his enapril pill tomorrow as you have done in the past. Missing multiple days in a row may cause a problem but missing one dose is not concerning. He should be OK for a couple days without the Vetmedin but since I don't have his medical history it's hard for me to say for sure. I suggest you call your vet as soon as you can to consult with them about this.

It's very important that Molly gets her enalapril as scheduled, and missing three doses can be harmful to her health. I can't say if she will die or not, but I do think it's best to give her one of the missed doses now (not all three!) and then the next as regularly scheduled. Have her checked out by a vet to be safe in the morning. I hope this helps!

Now missing that dose over longer time periods could potentially cause a problem due to the life cycle of the heartworm and what stages the medicine kills, since the heartworm goes through several larval stages once inside a dog or a cat. The best thing to do in your case is exactly what you did, give the dose as soon as you realize you missed it and of course, contact your vet for their advice. Ellie should be fine. Hello. I do not think you have too much to worry about because she was not on this medication for a long enough time to need a long withdrawl of the drug. You see, with steroids, after a certain amount of time it is best to discontinue them in a decreasing manner. 10 days is not a significant time to be on the medication & you did decrease the dose 50% for the last 4 days. If your vet is open tomorrow, just call to make sure they do not want you to pick up a few more pills just to finish off the weaning period, but otherwise, there will be no problems with how you gave her the pills.
