My dog got the wrong Lovan dose. Should I worry about an overdose?

The usual dose rate is 3-5mg per kilogram bodyweight, given twice daily. So, her dose would be between 41.5 and 70mg. I don't think 75mg would be harmful. If you have a question about her dosing I suggest you ask the prescribing veterinarian. As a side note, Vitofyllin is not absorbed well from the stomach if food is present, so it is much better to give on an empty stomach (or with a tiny morsel of food) and then to feed 30 minutes later.

Duke is 80lbs, so about 36.4kg. He ingested 0.55mg/kg of Lexapro. With doses as low as 0.3mg/kg, you can see incoordination and lethargy, although there is typically no toxic damage to organs. To be safe, if Duke ate the Lexapro within the past 2 hours, I would take him to your vet now to induce vomiting. If it's been longer than 2 hours, you will have to monitor him for signs of toxicity (tremors, incoordination, seizures, lethargy), and if you see any of those signs, take him to a vet right away.

Hello. At that dose & with a single acute ingestion, I would not expect to see anything in the dog or older cat. But if the kitten ingested the 20 mg, then you may see symptoms of serotonin syndrome. This could include vomiting & diarrhea, & neurological signs such as ataxia or incoordination while walking, agitation, tremors, mild seizures, vocalization, disorientation, or even sedation & lethargy. You could take the smallest cat to your veterinarian for possible decontamination, or just keep a close watch on everyone for any concerning signs I have mentioned. Based on the normal dose range of fluoxetine for dogs, your dog received less than double the recommended dose. Signs of overdose include lethargy and hyper salivation, while seizures can occur in dogs who have massive overdoses (this would not be considered a massive overdose). Because your dog has only taken a little over the highest recommended dose, he should be ok but you can take him into a vet to have vomiting induced to be safe. I never recommend doing it at home due to the risk of aspiration and the fact that hydrogen peroxide (which people commonly use at home to induce vomiting) can and does cause gastritis often worse than the initial problem. You can monitor him, and you do see any side effect, you can take him into the vet.

It is really hard to tell exactly what you are asking. Did Bruno swallow one pill of 0.5mg Lonazep (lorazepam)? If so, one tablet will not harm him. This is a benzodiazepine drug and dogs often take medications in this class of drug for anxiety and sedative effects. It can also be given for seizure activity. Dogs however, take a much higher dose than a person so that low dose will not harm him. The only thing you may notice is a bit of sleepiness but I doubt it. Most veterinarians typically dose dogs at 0.5 - 1mg/kg of body weight. For example, if you were to give a 25 lb dog Zofer (Ondansetron), the dog would get 4mg or 8mg every 12 hours. A dog Googly's size would get about 12 - 25mg every 12 hours. If Googly is vomiting and not feeling well, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Googly so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be recommended.
