Why does my dog's lip burn smell foul even with antibiotics?

This appears to be an infected wound. It looks like it has been caused by some sort of penetrating object. The antibiotics should start to kick in and sort the infection. You can clean the outside with warm water that has been boiled. If it is not improving go back to the vet in case there is a foreign body inside it.

It is possible it is a bite or sting, or an infection. A veterinarian would also need to look inside her mouth at her teeth and the inner surface of the lip. For what it is worth, there should not be leftover antibiotics unless the veterinarian told you to stop giving them. And I definitely do not recommend giving them without being instructed by your veterinarian. Antibiotic resistance is a big problem that can be made worse by giving them when they aren't needed, or stopping them before they have been finished. If Roxy is pawing at the face, rubbing the area, I definitely recommend having it looked at to determine if it seems more likely to be infection or allergic reaction. If this just popped up and doesn't seem to be distressing her, you could wait 24 hours to see if it goes away. If she will let you, an ice cube can be rubbed over the area to decrease inflammation.

Missy appears to have several areas of bone loss and exposed tooth roots. I suspect she has several diseased teeth and significant infection. Sometimes severe bone loss can results in deep ulcers and even fistulas. I recommend to discuss having Missy sedated to remove the diseased teeth and clean out any ulcers. Then give her mouth time to heal. It’s unlikely that this problem and the odor will go away with out the full treatment. Ulcer and bad teeth can cause discomfort. The bad smell could be coming from Tesha's anal sacs. They may be impacted. But it could be from the hole in her leg, but she's on antibiotics to prevent infection. Keep a close eye on her, and if you still smell a bad smell in the morning have her seen by a vet. Best of luck.

You can have your veterinarian take a look at her and if they agree, antibiotics can be prescribed at that time. This is likely to improve the smell and infection but also improve her comfort. The flatulence is gross and scary, but not medically dangerous. The antibiotics may by upsetting Freybug's stomach a bit. Don't stop the antibiotics, since they are important for clearing up her skin. You can give her some probiotics and feed her a bland diet of chicken and rice for a week to help settle her stomach. If she's having diarrhea or vomiting, let your vet know and they may be able to switch her to a different antibiotic. Good luck!
