Hello, Unfortunately, the only remedy for this is to have it surgically removed . Otherwise it will continue to be infected and cause problems. The sooner it gets addressed, the better because the bigger it gets, the more difficult the surgery will be. Once it is removed, your veterinarian can send it off to determine if it was benign or malignant. an open and infected tumor should be removed. If it happens to be a lipoma (fatty lump) then this should be curative. If it happens to be another type of tumor, then your vet should do an x-ray of the lungs to check whether there are metastases. I think you should get a second opinion from another veterinarian or a veterinary oncologist.

There is unlikely anything to help with the drooling and odor. You can try antibiotics to help control the secondary infection which can help with the odor, but it is unlikely to fix that problem. The drool is from the tumor interfering with the closing her mouth and swallowing properly. You may talk to your vet about adding a rinse such as mylanta and benadryl to help soothe the mouth and help coat the bleeding parts

Poor guy. Spiky needs to be seen by a vet for this. This could be a number of things and if there are tumors, he needs surgery. If there is an odor he will also likely need prescription antibiotics. Please take him in soon for medical treatment as this cannot be treated at home. Until you can get him seen by your vet you can try cleaning the area with Betadine diluted 50;50 with water. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Poor girl. Because this mass is open and seems to be bothering her I would highly consider having this mass removed surgically. Sometimes if the mass is small (less than 2 cm's) we can do a sedative on the pet and quickly remove these. However if it is a larger mass then general anesthesia may be required. She also needs to be placed on oral antibiotics to keep this area from getting infected and daily cleaning of the mass as well. Sterile saline flushes can help keep this area relatively clean and then an e-collar placed on her can help prevent licking. If surgery isn't an option for you, then medical management with antibiotics, e-collar and regular cleanings may allow proper healing of the area, but in most cases surgical removal is the best option.
